Upcoming movies this week: Shahid Kapoor’s O'Romeo, Chris Hemsworth’s Crime 101 and GOAT hit cinemas

The second week of February's theatrical lineup blends romance, thrills and diverse genre fare across global cinemas. Regional films like Couple Friendly and Seetha Payanam will release, while Bollywood's Valentine-week rush is dominated by gritty romantic thrillers like Tu Yaa Main and O'Romeo.

Hollywood contributes four big-screen releases: the sci-fi adventure Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die; the crime caper Crime 101; the animated sports comedy Goat; and a daring rendition of Wuthering Heights.

O Romeo (February 13)

Vishal Bhardwaj's Hindi action-romantic thriller

O'Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, is scheduled to hit theatres during Valentine's Week on February 13. Featuring a star-studded cast that includes Avinash Tiwary, Nana Patekar, and others, the movie develops into a gritty, emotional love story with gangster themes.

Tu Yaa Main (February 13)

Bejoy Nambiar's Hindi-language survival drama Tu Yaa Main stars Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor as two social media influencers whose journey turns into a lethal struggle for survival. Produced by Bhanushali Studios and Colour Yellow, it will be released in theatres on February 13, with a Netflix streaming debut to follow.

Wuthering Heights (February 13)

Wuthering Heights is Emerald Fennell's daring new adaptation of Emily Bronte's beloved gothic romance. It stars Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. The movie aims to create a visceral cinematic experience during the Valentine's weekend by recreating the turbulent love narrative with more sensual and dramatic aspects.

Crime 101 (February 13)

Bart Layton's high-stakes criminal thriller centres on a fugitive jewel thief whose brazen heists along the 101 Freeway lead him into a perilous game with law enforcement and unexpected allies. The gripping story stars Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, and Mark Ruffalo in a hunter and prey clash. The film is based on a Don Winslow novella.

A Beautiful Breakup (February 13)

Romantic supernatural thriller A Beautiful Breakup follows a couple on their last vacation together, only to reveal hidden forces in a remote estate. The film is directed by Ajithvasan Uggina and stars Thaksh and Matylda Bajer in lead roles. The film, which will be released worldwide on February 13, is based on real-life events and features a beautiful orchestral composition by renowned composer Ilaiyaraaja.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die (February 13)

Sam Rockwell plays a time-traveller who enlists the help of diners to prevent a rogue AI apocalypse in Gore Verbinski's high-concept sci-fi action-comedy Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die. Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Pena, Zazie Beetz, and Juno Temple are among the ensemble cast members of the film, which debuts in theatres on February 13.

GOAT (February 13)

Will, a driven young goat, aspires to compete in the fast-paced, basketball-like sport of ‘roarball’ in the sports animated comedy GOAT. The film's all-star voice cast includes NBA player Stephen Curry, Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, Nick Kroll, Jennifer Hudson, Andrew Santino, and others.

Couple Friendly (February 14)

Ashwin Chandrasekhar's Telugu-Tamil musical love drama Couple Friendly will be released in theatres on Valentine's Day. It stars Santosh Sobhan and Manasa Varanasi in lead roles. The narrative combines modern relationships, focusing on an aspiring interior designer whose accidental encounter ignites an intense love story.

Seetha Payanam (February 14)

The multilingual love family drama Seetha Payanam, directed by seasoned Arjun Sarja, will be released in theatres on February 14. The plot centres on Seetha, a budding chef whose life takes a dramatic change after she survives a near-fatal accident and develops feelings for a mysterious stranger.
