Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (January 12)
Anil Ravipudi's Telugu action-comedy and family drama Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu stars megastar Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara in lead roles. It was released on January 12, during the Sankranti celebration. With a special cameo by Venkatesh, the film combines humour, emotion, and popular appeal. It was marketed as a festive crowd-pleaser for viewers of all ages.
Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil (January 15)
Jiiva plays a small-town politician navigating election chaos and wedding turmoil in the upcoming Tamil political comedy-satire Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil. The film, directed by Nithish Sahadev in his Tamil debut, aims to enchant viewers during the Pongal season by fusing light-hearted comedy with joyous family interactions. Initially slated for a late January release, the movie was moved up to January 15 to benefit from the festive period.
Vaa Vaathiyaar (January 14)
The highly anticipated Tamil action-comedy Vaa Vaathiyaar, starring Karthi, Krithi Shetty, and a solid ensemble cast, is finally scheduled to hit theatres on January 14. The Nalan Kumarasamy-directed film will be released during the Pongal week, attracting a sizeable crowd. Vaa Vaathiyaar tells the tale of DSP Rameshwaran, a corrupt police officer who defies his grandfather's desire for him to uphold the morals and integrity of the late MGR.
Mango Pachcha (January 15)
Set in the early 2000's Mysuru, Mango Pachcha is a forthcoming Kannada crime-action drama directed by Viveka Prakash, with the main character being Sanchith Sanjeev. Produced by KRG Studios in association with Supriyanvi Picture Studio, the film is Sanchith's first major role. Mango Pachcha promises to bring great drama and action via a gritty tale of ambition, competition, and overcoming hardship.
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (January 16)
Directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Alex Garland, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is the fourth post-apocalyptic horror film in the 28 Days Later series. The film centres on survivors like Spike and the unsettling Dr Ian Kelson, who must contend with vicious dangers from both the infected and merciless human adversaries under the command of Sir Jimmy Crystal. This grisly and powerful sequel stars Ralph Fiennes, Jack O'Connell, Alfie Williams, and others.
