The sequel to the 2015 success, first released on December 12, 2025, had a difficult time at the box office because of fierce competition from bigger films.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar, which dominated screens and public attention throughout December, had an influence on the movie's initial showing.
“The film's initial run was impacted by limited screen availability due to two major releases – #Dhurandhar and #Avatar. Responding to the film's sustained buzz, producer Ratan Jain has decided to bring #KKPK2 back to theatres,” Adarsh wrote at the time.

Despite its small box office result, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2established a devoted fanbase through strong word-of-mouth and favourable viewer reactions, which led producers to give the movie another shot at theatres.
One of the film's producers, Ratan Jain, noted that the decision to re-release the comedy was driven by public demand and that it was designed as a family-friendly picture with widespread appeal.
Given that its first box office run was sandwiched between Dhurandhar and James Cameron's Hollywood fantasy epic Avatar: Fire and Ash, which grossed over Rs 150 crore at the Indian box office, the new release date will give Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2more breathing room.
With Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash starting to slow down, its new release timeframe becomes more promising. In addition to the two holdover films, Sriram Raghavan's historical battle epic Ikkis might present new competition.
With fewer major blockbusters occupying multiplex screens after the holidays, the January 9 re-release coincides with a change in the film industry. However, South Indian films like The Raja Saab and Jana Nayagan may present new competition for Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2.
The film, directed by Anukalp Goswami and stars Kapil Sharma, Manjot Singh, Parul Gulati, Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhury, and Ayesha Khan, is popular for its chaotic romance and hilarious confusion. It was produced under the banners of Venus Worldwide Entertainment and Abbas-Mustan Film Production.
