US President Donald Trump arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday after a 23-hour flight from Washington, DC. Upon stepping off Air Force One, the 79-year-old president danced to the beat of drums on the tarmac.

Trump danced alongside Malaysian performers dressed in colourful costumes representing the country’s major ethnic groups, including Malays, Chinese, Indians, and indigenous people from Borneo.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim joined Trump, swaying to the music. Trump also greeted the crowd, waving American and Malaysian flags and posing for photos.

The visit marks the first stop of Trump’s five-day Asia tour aimed at expanding US influence and securing trade deals.

Social media users praised Trump’s dance moves, noting his energy and rhythm. Comments highlighted the moment as entertaining and memorable, with one user calling it “The Trump Dance to the Malaysian version of the theme to Hawaii Five-O.”

His itinerary includes meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in Tokyo, Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, and a potential encounter with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un near the Demilitarised Zone.

During the stop in Kuala Lumpur, Trump oversaw the signing of a ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia at the 47th ASEAN summit. He also signed trade deals with Malaysia and Cambodia and a minerals deal with Thailand.

The trip comes amid ongoing tensions with China, recent setbacks in Middle East diplomacy, and stalled talks with Russia. Former White House strategist Steve Bannon described the tour as “one of the president’s riskiest” trips.
