Dinyar Tirandaz, known for his work in television shows such as Nukkad, Byomkesh Bakshi and Zabaan Sambhal Ke, died in Mumbai on June 11, according to multiple reports.
The news of his death was first shared by the Facebook group "Parsi Zoroastrians Worldwide – The Hyderabadi Page". The post stated that Tirandaz had "left for his heavenly abode" and mentioned that a paidust would be held at Wadia Bungli in Mumbai. According to the post, he died at 3:45 pm.
The update was later reposted by several Instagram pages and subsequently reported by media outlets. However, the cause of death has not been disclosed.
Tirandaz began his acting career with the 1984 film Duniya. He later appeared in television shows including Nukkad and Byomkesh Bakshi. He was also known for playing Mr Keki Daruwala in the sitcom Zabaan Sambhal Ke.
He also appeared in several Hindi films, including Hello Brother, Albela, Chalte Chalte, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?, Kya Kehna, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin and Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal. His final known screen appearance was in the 2017 Gujarati family drama Wass...up! Zindagi. According to the Facebook post announcing his death, Tirandaz co-owned a theatre company with his wife and also owned a metal polishing business.
