‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ Day 1 collection: Kapil Sharma's movie opens to underwhelming ₹1.75 crore

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, the much-awaited follow-up to Kapil Sharma's 2015 comedy blockbuster, debuted in Indian theatres on Friday, but its first day's box office receipts were modest.

Early trade estimates indicate that the romantic comedy's Day 1 net collection was ₹1.75 crore, much less than industry estimates and stands in sharp contrast to the successful premiere of the original film.

Alongside Kapil Sharma, the 2025 sequel also stars Ayesha Khan, Parul Gulati, Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhury, Manjot Singh, Asrani, and Sushant Singh. When compared to the successful premiere of the first film, the 2025 sequel found it difficult to attract sizable crowds to theatres on its opening Friday.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the total occupancy of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 was in the mid-teens. Morning shows hardly filled seats, while evening and night screenings on key circuits like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Pune only slightly improved.

Morning shows had an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 5.91%, afternoon shows had 13.90%, evening shows had 17.21%, and night shows had 28.77%, which is the maximum.

The muted opening has been attributed to a number of factors, according to trade experts. One of the most notable is the intense rivalry from Dhurandhar, the Ranveer Singh action thriller that still commands the most attention at the box office, attracting more people and stealing the show at both single-screen and multiplex venues.

The poor attendance might be attributed to Kriti Sanon-Dhanush's Tere Ishk Mein  as well. Additionally, audiences and critics claimed that the sequel's marketing effort did not create the same amount of anticipation as the original film.

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 apparently lacked the excitement and expectation of its 2015 predecessor, which had universal appeal and box office success, despite Kapil Sharma's return to a franchise that formerly featured his style of wild humour.
