What is the story about?
Huma Qureshi is all set to channel a deaf-mute hitwoman in the upcoming crime thriller Baby Do Die Do. After unveiling the first glimpses on Saturday, the makers have finally released the official teaser on Tuesday.
The film marks Huma Qureshi's and director Nachiket Samant’s reunion after their last collaboration, Single Salma, which went unnoticed in theatres but gained attention on Netflix.
Baby Do Die Do teaser
The 90-second teaser opens with a little girl’s voiceover narrating that the story starts with her death, but the story is not about her; it is about her deaf and mute sister. The scene then transports us back to the present, where we see Huma Qureshi as a mysterious character. She is seen peeping at random strangers in a Mumbai local while carrying a folded red umbrella – her secret weapon.
The teaser introduces her as ‘India’s first desi hitwoman’. In rapid glimpses Huma Qureshi’s character is seen amid fight scenes, practising gunshots and fearlessly standing up against her enemies.
The teaser ends with a policeman advising her, "Do something before she dies,” but a lady cop, played by Seema Pahwa, knows too well that the woman would do exactly the opposite.
Sharing the teaser, the actress wrote, “Gardi main bhi lonely hai. Saab mein one & only hai. Baby KarMarKar jo koregi, maregi, aur phir karegi.”
Huma Qureshi turns producer for Baby Do Die Do
In the upcoming crime thriller, Huma Qureshi marks her debut as a producer alongside her brother and fellow actor Saquib Saleem. Previously, Saquib had also served as a co-producer on Single Salma.
However, the film did not attract the audiences as much as they thought and received a limited release in cinemas.
As per Mid-Day reports, Saquib opened up about the teaser and shared, “With this teaser, we're finally opening the doors to Baby's world. Beyond the mystery of Baby Do Die Do lies an ensemble of unforgettable characters, each adding a new layer to the story. We're excited for audiences to start connecting the dots and step into this unpredictable universe with us."
About Baby Do Die Do
Directed by Nachiket Samant, Baby Do Die Do follows a deaf and mute serial killer in Mumbai who can only hear her dead sister’s voice as she commits murders for mysterious reasons.
