What is the story about?
A haunted haveli, a wedding plan that makes no sense and that classic Priyadarshan chaos. Yes, the trailer of Bhooth Bangla is finally out, and it screams relatable from the very first moment.
In the trailer, things are weird, people are acting like it’s normal and right in the middle of all this isAkshay Kumar, completely unfazed. The over three-minute clip shows that he decides to get married in a haunted palace in Mangalpur, which already comes with a curse, thanks to an evil entity called Vadhusur. While most people would want to rethink this plan, Akshay’s character is adamant to get married, and that is where the madness begins.
Paresh Rawal is seen warning Mithila Palkar about the dangers around the house, but Akshay’s character keeps brushing it all off like it’s no big deal. And in the middle of all this, he is still focused on getting married despite the fact that no one in the village of Mangalpur does. Towards the end, he wakes Vadhusur from its slumber, setting the stage for a mad mix of horror and comedy that fans have been waiting for years.
Wamiqa Gabbi adds a fresh touch to the story, and her pairing with Akshay Kumar feels new. Then there is Tabu, who instantly stands out as someone who maybe belongs to both worlds in some way. To know more about what she has to offer, viewers will have to wait until the film’s release this month. Sharing the trailer, Akshay Kumar wrote, "Welcome to Bhooth Bangla. Yahan na toh log normal hain... Aur upar se Bangla bhi paranormal hai. Enter at your own risk."
What adds to the hype around the film is that it brings Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan together, almost after 16 years of hiatus.
Previously, the two delivered cult classics like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Their last film together was Khatta Meetha, released in 2010, where Akshay was paired with Trisha Krishnan.
Bhooth Bangla was originally slated for release on May 15, but the makers decided to prepone it. It will now be arriving in cinemas on April 16. Produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R. Kapoor, the film boasts a massive ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi and late actor Asrani.
