The second season of Erin Foster's romantic comedy premiered on October 23 and has already received negative reviews from critics and fans who claim it has lost the spark that made the first season so successful.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second season was criticised for being ‘boring and obnoxious’ due to its recurring disputes and plotlines, and its inappropriate depictions of Jewish characters.
‘It just helps for your characters to have other things to do in addition to falling in and out of love. Otherwise, a distinct risk of repetition and exhaustion sets in,” The Hollywood Reporter’s TV critic Daniel Fienberg said.
Kelly Lawler of USA Today said: "The new season of Nobody fizzles that spark right back into nothingness."
“Its quirky characters have jumped the shark into cartoonish annoyance, its plots gone from heightened to outlandish, and worst of all, it has lost the palpable romance that was the crux of the series’ appeal,” Lawler stated.
Fans expressed their disappointment on X (formerly Twitter) as well.
“Season 2 of #NobodyWantsThis is a letdown. Noah and Joanne keep bricking, are they even compatible? Meanwhile, Esther, Sasha and Morgan’s stories are actually fun and engaging,” one wrote.

“Nobody Wants This is such a Jewish propaganda show man, like season 1 was like okay cool good romance good boyfriend, but season 2 was SO obviously religious propaganda, man, and the creator being a Zionist doesn't help either,” another comment read.

“Kinda funny to see blow up like it has. It’s not an especially good show, including now in its second season. It’s sort of like another hangout show that asks basically nothing of its audience. An easy, pleasant, low-stakes watch about two people in love,” one X user summed it up.

“Nobody Wants This. S2 was so disappointing. Half of the main couple’s storylines were the same as S1, and Adam Brody’s character was so much more unlikeable,” wrote another.
