What is the story about?
In a move to encourage more people to go to the theatre, the producers of Dhurandhar have announced ‘Blockbuster Tuesday’, lowering the price to ₹149 on January 13.
Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller, starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Sara Arjun, has already turned out to be one of the biggest successes in the industry.
Dhurandhar, released on December 5, 2025, broke box office records by raking in well above ₹800 crore in India and over ₹1,000 crore worldwide, entering the list of top-grossing Indian films in single-language cinema.
The daily fresh occupancy has inevitably receded after more than five weeks at the box office.
Despite stiff competition, including newer releases, Prabhas’s The Raja Saab, the producers, Jio Studios & B62 Studios, announced a reduced ticket rate in an effort to sustain the incredible momentum of ‘Dhurandhar’s Sixth Week’ on the market.
The Raja Saab made an estimated ₹108.00 crore in India within its first three days at the box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The horror-comedy is aiming for ₹200 crore by Makar Sankranti (celebrated on January 14) after surpassing ₹150 crore worldwide in its first weekend.
Announcing the limited-deal offer on X (formerly Twitter), trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh wrote, “'DHURANDHAR' BLOCKBUSTER TUESDAY OFFER *TOMORROW*... The excitement around #Dhurandhar continues unabated... #JioStudios and #B62Studios roll out a power-packed deal for TOMORROW [Tuesday, 13 Jan 2026] – tickets priced at just ₹149/-.”
Dhurandhar, a gritty action-thriller directed by Dhar, is based on actual events connected to Ajit Doval, India's National Security Advisor.
The film, which combines tremendous action, patriotism, and high-stakes suspense, examines covert operations conducted by Indian special operatives in Pakistan.
The movie has surpassed Pushpa 2's Hindi collection of ₹821 crore on January 6 to become the highest-grossing Indian film in a single language.
In contrast, Jawan earned ₹586 crore, and Chhaava collected ₹601 crore in Hindi. Gadar 2, Stree 2, Pathaan, Animal, and Baahubali 2 are among the other Hindi films that have surpassed the ₹500 crore milestone.
