What is the story about?
Popular electronic dance music festival Tomorrowland will make its Asia debut in Thailand, marking a major extension beyond its well-known South American and European versions. The organisers have officially announced that Tomorrowland Thailand 2026 will take place in Wisdom Valley in Pattaya's Chonburi Province over three days from December 11 to 13.
Tomorrowland, which began in Belgium in 2005, has since developed into one of the most famous electronic music festivals in the world. Thailand was picked because of its "growing influence on the global stage of music, innovation, and experience-driven tourism", Tomorrowland told BBC on Tuesday.
Venue and Scale
The event will take place in the Wisdom Valley, a vast 237-acre venue in Chonburi, near Pattaya, from December 11 to 13, 2026. It will be one of the largest music events ever held in Southeast Asia, with over 50,000 people expected every day in the Thai beach town Pattaya, according to organisers.
The Wisdom Valley location in Khao Mai Kaew, Bang Lamung District, is near to major airports and about an hour's drive from Bangkok. The site, which is around 237 acres in size, will include multiple stages, including the famous Mainstage, CORE, and FREEDOM stages from Tomorrowland, all of which have been modified for a Southeast Asian context.
Ticket Price and Availability
Compared to the European versions, DreamVille camping will not be available for Tomorrowland Thailand. Instead, hotel packages with shuttle services will be available starting on February 28, and the WorldWide Ticket Sale will take place on March 7.
Access to the initial pass sale stages is dependent upon pre-registration for tickets, which begins on January 8 and ends on March 6.
A single-day entry costs 5,100 baht (around ₹14,667), while a ‘full madness pass’ that covers all three days of the event will cost 12,500 baht (approximately ₹36,000). The festival's concept and lineup will soon be revealed, according to the organisers.
Cultural Integration and Experience
Thai tourist officials and festival organisers have underlined that the Thailand iteration would incorporate local cultural flair with Tomorrowland's top-notch production standards.
Officials highlight the possibility of a significant economic impact over the next five years, projected to be in the multi-billion-baht range, including development in the tourism, hotel, and creative industries.
According to Thai media, Thailand signed an agreement with Tomorrowland to host the event for five years and anticipates earning 21 billion baht ($673 million) during that time.
"Expanding Tomorrowland to a new continent is a milestone we approach with great respect and excitement... This is the beginning of a long-term story," said Tomorrowland CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers.
