What is the story about?
The first look teaser for the historical epic Raja Shivaji has been officially released. Directed by and starring Riteish Deshmukh as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, coinciding with Maharashtra Day.
Following an exclusive theatre premiere with Dhurandhar The Revenge, the trailer has now made its digital debut, heightening anticipation for a film that claims to portray the narrative of one of India's greatest warrior kings.
The teaser provides a grand visual glimpse into the life and legacy of the Maratha warrior king through grandeur cinema, infused with a narrative rooted in the birth of Swarajya (self-rule).
Alongside Riteish, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Boman Irani, Amol Gupte, and Genelia Deshmukh.
The two-and-a-half-minute trailer kicks off by introducing the ensemble cast before diving into high-energy action sequences. It opens with a menacing Sanjay Dutt, portraying a ruler intent on crushing the Marathas after killing Manjrekar's character.
The video then transitions to Abhishek Bachchan as Sambhaji Shahaji Bhosale, showcasing his warrior prowess through intense swordplay.
Following brief glimpses of the supporting cast, Riteish Deshmukh finally appears as 'Raja Shivaji,' centring the story on his mission to establish Swarajya.
