What is the story about?
Bahraini rapper Flipperachi entered the Guinness World Records after his popular song, Fa9la, topped the Arabia Charts with the highest number of billboards. The track was featured in Aditya Dhar's blockbuster spy action thriller Dhurandhar.
"Guinness World Records, Habibi. It feels amazing. It became popular in a language (Hindi) that it wasn't sung in. It boomed in another language! It just saw an explosion and I am so thrilled topping four charts at one time with one song," said Flipperachi in a video statement, according to Gulf News.
In a video shared on the official Instagram handle of the Guinness World Records Arabia, Flipperachi can be seen in the middle of a photoshoot when he was surprised with the honour.
FA9LA was originally released in May 2024, but the single received widespread recognition after it was included in the Bollywood movie in December last year.
Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, among others.
The song made Flipperachi household name in India after it was played during Akshaye’s iconic entry scene in the film.
Earlier, Flipperachi told Fever FM that
Fa9la, pronounced ‘faasla’, was more “about a vibe than a literal meaning”.
The 36-year-old, who was born as Hussam Aseem in Manama, Bahrain, said that the team of Dhurandhar had initially approached him regarding the licence of the single as they "considered making their own version".
They “eventually decided to use the track as it was,” Flipperachi added.
Flipperachi is scheduled for an India tour in March. He is set to perform in Bengaluru on March 14. This is his first visit to India post the success of FA9LA.
More dates and locations for Flipperachi's concerts are expected to be announced soon.
Since coming out with his debut album, Straight Out of 2seas, in 2013, Flipperachi has remained active in the music industry for more than a decade now. H
After smashing several box office records with its earnings of more than ₹ 1,000 crore, Dhurandhar started streaming on Netflix on Friday. It is now available online in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
