Trailer of Rani Mukerji's Mardaani 3 out, new release date confirmed

The trailer of the third edition of the Mardaani franchise, Mardaani 3, starring Rani Mukerji, is out. The makers have also confirmed a new release date. Producers Yash Raj Films confirmed the new release date on Saturday and released the official trailer for the gritty crime-thriller series on Monday.

Originally scheduled to open in theatres on February 27, Mardaani 3 has been surprisingly pre-poned to January 30. Rani Mukerji will once again play the role of a daring police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy in this grim, lethal, and violent story. This time, Shivani will be on the hunt for India's missing girls.

Mardaani 3 is scheduled to open in cinemas on January 30. Announcing the release date on their official Instagram account, Yash Raj Films wrote, “She won’t stop until she rescues them all! #RaniMukerji is back as the fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in #Mardaani3. Rescue begins in cinemas near you on 30th Jan.”

The film’s poster depicts Rani as furious and stubborn as ever, holding a gun and staring into the camera.

A group of girls is standing crowded together behind her. The term ‘missing’ is scrawled over their faces, hinting at the plot.

Sharing the trailer on X (formerly Twitter), trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “YRF - RANI MUKERJI: 'MARDAANI 3' TRAILER OUT NOW – 30 JAN 2026 RELEASE... #RaniMukerji returns as #ShivaniShivajiRoy, the fierce and fearless cop, in the third instalment of the #Mardaani franchise: #Mardaani3.”

Mardaani 3, directed by Abhiraj Minawala, features Rani Mukerji in her famous role as the courageous officer Shivani Shivaji Roy. Shivani is shown joining the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and is given the human trafficking case.

The trailer creates a dark and frantic tone as Shivani fights against time to solve a terrifying mystery involving several missing girls.

This time, the police officer encounters a powerful female nemesis instead of a male one: Mallika Prasad's ‘Amma,’ a vicious criminal matriarch, creating a new and dramatic development in the franchise's plot.

The gripping trailer shows Shivani's unwavering quest for justice against a backdrop of systematic corruption, criminal syndicates, and kidnappings.

The film's raw, high-stakes plot and Rani's dominating performance won over audiences, who praised the comeback of one of Bollywood's most captivating female protagonists.
