What is the story about?
Allu Arjun fans, here is a quick update for you, and this one’s definitely worth a pause. The actor’s much-talked-about film with Atlee has finally got its name. Earlier referred to as AA22xA6, the sci-fi actioner thriller is now officially titled Raaka, and the first look dropped right on his 44th birthday today.
The first look poster of Allu Arjun from the film makes you stop and stare. The actor doesn’t look like himself at all here, thanks to the prosthetic work, which makes him look older. What adds to the intrigue is the small details like rough skin, the heavy beard and the way his eyes are lined with bold kohl. The way he stares at the camera? It will completely catch you off guard.
Well, there is more to the detailing. The outfit has these heavy, fur-like elements, giving off a slightly wild, almost tribal vibe. There’s even a claw-like feature peeking through, which adds to the mystery around the character. It looks dark, intriguing and definitely more experimental than what you had expected.
The makers have also gone all out with the launch, releasing the poster in multiple languages, clearly hinting at a big pan-India vision. Sun Pictures, the production banner behind the film, wrote along with the poster, “Prepare yourself for a vision beyond limits.”
Previously, the chatter aboutAllu Arjun possibly playing multiple roles, spanning different ages, added to the buzz. There were also reports suggesting that the parallel universes will be a part of the story. Having said that, no official confirmation around the details have been made yet. Wait, there’s more to the film. Besides Allu Arjun, Deepika Padukone also came on board for the film, marking her first film after her pregnancy.
Touted to be a large-scale science fiction entertainer with a reincarnation concept, the film reportedly also has actresses like Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bhagyashri Borse, though the makers are yet to confirm their names.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is expected to take home a whopping fee of around ₹ 175 crore for Raaka, along with a backend deal according to which he will get 15% stake in the profits.
