Amid Dhurandhar's success, Ranveer Singh quits Farhan Akhtar's Don 3: Report

Ranveer Singh is soaring on the massive success of Dhurandhar, and it appears to be influencing his next moves. With Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller becoming a rage at the box office, the actor is now stepping away from one of his most-awaited projects -

Don 3.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Singh has decided to exit Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s film. A source quoted by the portal said, “Right after the release ofDhurandhar, Ranveer was scheduled to begin preparations for Don 3. However, given the current situation, the film is now pushed.”

The shift reportedly stems from Ranveer’s wish to avoid repetition. Since Dhurandhar

has established his name in the gangster-action space, the actor does not want to be seen doing back-to-back films in a similar zone. Instead, he is keen on collaborating with filmmakers he deeply admires.

As the source added, “He is keen to collaborate with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee, and at the same time, he doesn’t want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films, especially since Dhurandharis already established in that space.”

Ranveer has even fast-tracked his other projects, with one of them being Pralay. Produced by Applause Entertainment, the zombie thriller is now being pushed ahead of schedule. The Jai Mehta directorial explores a gripping human drama set against a chaotic backdrop.

It focuses on a man’s desperate mission to save his family. Reports suggest Ranveer is personally involved in aligning dates to ensure the film goes on floors before it was initially planned.

Meanwhile, Don 3 is said to be starting over with new plans. With Ranveer stepping away, the makers are reportedly looking for a new lead as they aim to begin shooting by late January 2026.

Kriti Sanon, already confirmed as the female lead, remains part of the project though. As for the antagonist, reports claim that Vikrant Massey and Vijay Deverakonda were approached for the role. Both the actors have declined the opportunity.

Coming back to Dhurandhar, the film continues its unstoppable run. Trade analysts have predicted that the action thriller will cross Rs 600 crore net by Thursday.
