What is the story about?
There is a variety of theatre releases this week (January 19–25), offering something for every moviegoer. War-drama Border 2 to fast-paced Hollywood thriller Mercy, and critically acclaimed films such as Marty Supreme will open in theatres on January 23.
Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies (January 22)
Inspired by wrestling tradition, Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies is a fast-paced Malayalam action-comedy that centres on an odd group of people who start their own fight club in Fort Kochi. It stars Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, and Ishan Shoukath, with Mammootty rumoured to have made a guest appearance. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the music of the film, set to release on January 22.
Border 2 (January 23)
Border 2 is the much-awaited follow-up to the 1997 war classic Border. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in primary roles. The film, set against the backdrop of a patriotic battle, boasts intense action, poignant drama, and a celebration of the bravery of Indian warriors. Border 2 opens in theatres ahead of Republic Day weekend on January 23.
Mercy (January 23)
The Timur Bekmambetov film, starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, is a high-stakes science fiction thriller. Chris Pratt plays a detective who must establish his innocence in the death of his wife in a dystopian future where justice is administered by an AI judge. The narrative explores topics of technology and what it means to be judged by computers, with just 90 minutes to persuade the advanced AI ‘Maddox’ (Rebecca Ferguson) of his innocence. Filmed for IMAX and 3D, Mercy to hit theatres on January 23.
Marty Supreme (January 23)

Johannes Roberts' wild survival-horror movie Primate delves into a family's pet chimpanzee that becomes viciously savage following a rabies bite, transforming a tropical holiday into a bloody struggle for survival.
The movie features Oscar winner Troy Kotsur, Jessica Alexander, and Johnny Sequoyah, and combines close-quarters tension with profound monster dread. Following its US release, the film is set to hit Indian theatres on January 23.
Baby Girl (January 23)
Nivin Pauly plays Sanal Mathew in the forthcoming Malayalam-language thriller Baby Girl, directed by Arun Varma and written by the renowned team Bobby-Sanjay.
