What is the story about?
Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun has vehemently dismissed a widely shared podcast recording that implied there were "42 dos and don'ts" to meet the actor. Allu Arjun's team has declared it ‘baseless and untrue’ and threatened to sue anybody involved.
The dispute started after brand strategist Kaveri Baruah talked about her experience with thePushpa actor in a short Sweekriti Talks podcast episode. She claimed in the video that her team was given a list of 42 regulations to adhere to before their meeting, including restrictions like "don't shake his hand" and "don't look into the sir's eyes."
She added that there were several levels of supervision surrounding the celebrity and that the procedures were "very strict."
Team Allu Arjun responded and vehemently denied the claim in a social media statement after the alleged video—which has since been removed—went viral. The actor has acted with "utmost dignity and honour," the statement reads, and the claims are "completely baseless and untrue."
The team claimed to have taken the issue seriously and to have already instructed legal counsel to file a defamation lawsuit against the individuals disseminating the false information. Additionally, people were advised not to share unconfirmed content.
“An official note from Icon star @alluarjun’s Office. A recent video spreading baseless allegations about @alluarjun is completely false. The matter is being taken seriously, and legal action is being initiated against those responsible. Kindly refrain from sharing unverified content,” Team Allu Arjun wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Following the issue, a number of Arjun's co-stars have openly defended him, highlighting his reportedly friendly and modest demeanour and rejecting the purported regulations as baseless.
Actor Subhodayam Subbarao condemned the act, calling it a ‘fake propaganda’ against the Pushpa actor. “Having acted alongside him in #pushpa I can vouch for his character. He is a true gentleman on set. These ‘rules’ rumours are purely for cheap publicity. Don't believe them! We stand with the Icon Star,” Subbarao wrote on X.
In response to the criticism, the podcast host allegedly made the video private on YouTube and Instagram, while Kaveri Baruah deleted her personal LinkedIn and Instagram profiles. While some observers have accused the actor's team of creating pressure to have the content taken down, Arjun's fans insist the legal procedures are a crucial defence against false public claims.
