Actors Tamannaah Bhatia and Junaid Khan will appear in the latest instalment of producer Ektaa R Kapoor's popular horror franchise, Ragini MMS, now titled Ragini 3. Backed by Balaji Motion Pictures, the film aims to reinvent the series with an artistic “date night horror” format blending horror, humour, and romance.
Filmmaker Shashanka Ghosh, who helmed Khoobsurat, Veere Di Wedding, and the original 2011 Ragini MMS, will direct the new Ragini 3, marking his reunion with Balaji Motion Pictures.
With
Sahir Raza remaining the project's creative force and Shashanka Ghosh returning as director, Ragini 3 marks an exciting new phase and brings together a dynamic team. As a result, the film’s scope has increased to extraordinary levels, making it one of Bollywood’s horror-thriller genre’s most anticipated releases.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the announcement, writing: “TAMANNAAH BHATIA - JUNAID KHAN TEAM UP FOR EKTAA R KAPOOR'S 'RAGINI 3' … The film will be directed by #ShashankaGhosh and produced by #EktaaRKapoor... Further details will be unveiled soon.”

Tamannaah Bhatia and Junaid Khan work together on-screen for the first time in the movie, a pairing that critics feel could add a new aspect to the genre. Tamannaah, who has been experimenting with a variety of characters in theatrical and OTT, is extending her genre horizons with this new horror project.
The actress was last seen in Odela 2, a sequel to Odela Railway Station. She will next appear in Deepak Mishra and Arunabh Kumar-directed Vvan, opposite actor Sidharth Malhotra. The film is set to release in theatres in May 2026.
Tamannaah is joined by Junaid Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. Junaid continues to amaze with his unconventional choices and subtle performances, creating a novel and captivating new on-screen duo.

Junaid made his acting debut with the lead role of social reformer Karsandas Mulji in the historical play Maharaj, based on a priest who assaulted women in the Maharaj libel case of 1862. He made his screen debut in 2025 in the romantic comedy Loveyapa, co-starring with Khushi Kapoor. He will be next seen in his father's film Mere Raho, opposite South actress Sai Pallavi.
About ‘Ragini’ franchise
Beginning in 2011, the Ragini MMS franchise starred Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala. In 2014, Sunny Leone starred in Ragini MMS 2, which included the number-one single Baby Doll. The film's creators reportedly intend to recreate the magic, this time with Tamannaah in a comparable glitzy role.
