Border 2 Day 1 box office performance
Trade figures cited by Sacnilk indicate that Border 2 earned around 7% more than Dhurandhar, which collected ₹28 crore net on its opening day. The start, however, remains below the lifetime opener of Sunny Deol’s recent blockbuster Gadar 2 and the historical drama Chhaava.
Advance bookings contributed significantly to the opening. Ahead of release, the film had already clocked approximately ₹12.5 crore through advance sales.
Around 4.09 lakh tickets were sold across 16,221 shows nationwide. When block seats were included, advance figures reportedly touched ₹17.5 crore, indicating strong interest even before release day.
Occupancy and regional performance
The film recorded an overall occupancy of about 32% on Day 1. Morning shows opened on a slower note, under 20%, but numbers improved as the day progressed. Evening and night shows saw increased footfall, with night occupancy nearing the 50% mark.
In terms of screenings, Delhi NCR led with the highest show count and strong average occupancy. Mumbai and Ahmedabad followed. Cities such as Lucknow, Chandigarh, and Jaipur reported healthy turnout, while southern centres like Bengaluru and Hyderabad added to the overall numbers.
