What to expect from ‘The Life of a Showgirl’
Along with the album title, Swift also dropped a specially curated playlist titled And, baby, that’s show business for you! — featuring 22 songs from across her career. The playlist includes fan favourites like 22 and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together from Red, Blank Space and Style from 1989, ...Ready For It? and Delicate from Reputation, and the vault track Message In a Bottle (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault) from Red
The songs on the playlist are produced by Max Martin and Shellback, the hit-making duo who worked with Swift extensively on Red, 1989, and Reputation. While collaborators for The Life of a Showgirl have not been confirmed, the playlist’s tracklist is already fuelling fan speculation about the sonic direction of the upcoming album.
An official release date has yet to be confirmed, but Swift’s website notes that vinyl pre-orders will ship before October 13, 2025. “THIS IS NOT THE RELEASE DATE, OFFICIAL
Fans are betting on an October 3 or October 10 release, but nothing is confirmed. The record follows her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department and comes amid heightened anticipation from fans, who are already dissecting every lyric and playlist choice for hints about her next era.
