What's Happening?
HS Insider is inviting high school students to apply for its Student Advisory Board (SAB) this fall. The board offers students opportunities to collaborate on multimedia stories, develop journalistic skills, and connect with peers and professionals. Members will participate in bi-weekly meetings, engage in content initiatives, and receive support on various journalistic projects. The program aims to foster creativity and leadership among student journalists, providing them with tools and resources to grow as reporters, photographers, and writers. Applications are open until September 8, with notifications sent by September 11.
Why It's Important?
The SAB program is crucial for nurturing young journalists, offering them a platform to develop their skills and gain real-world experience. By connecting students with professionals and peers, the program enhances their understanding of journalism and prepares them for future careers in media. It also encourages collaboration and innovation, allowing students to explore different aspects of storytelling and media production. This initiative supports the growth of student journalism and contributes to the development of informed and engaged young citizens.
What's Next?
Accepted students will begin their participation in the SAB program with the first meeting on September 15. They will engage in various projects, including podcasts and event planning, throughout the semester. The program will continue to offer opportunities for students to learn from industry professionals and collaborate with peers, fostering a community of aspiring journalists.
