Candidates waiting for the JEE Main January 2026 admit card may not have to wait much longer. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to activate
the download link on its official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in, shortly. Once released, students who have registered for the exam will be able to access their hall ticket using their application number and date of birth. Carrying the admit card is compulsory on exam day. NTA has made it clear that entry into the examination centre will not be allowed without a valid hall ticket. JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two phases this year. The first, or January session, is scheduled between January 21 and January 29, 2026. The second phase, the April session, will be held from April 2 to April 9, 2026. With the dates approaching, candidates are advised to download their admit cards early to avoid last-minute stress.
How and when the admit card will be released
As in previous editions, NTA will issue the JEE Main admit card only through online mode. No hard copy will be sent to candidates by post or email. Students should save the PDF after downloading and take a clear printout to carry to the exam centre.Steps to download JEE Main 2026 admit card

The admit card works as both an entry pass and identity proof. It mentions:

JEE Main exam pattern
The JEE Main paper is held for three hours and covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each subject has 30 questions, taking the total to 90 questions.- Section A has multiple-choice questions
- Section B has numerical-based questions
- Each correct answer carries 4 marks
- Each wrong answer leads to a 1 mark deduction
- Maximum score is 300 marks
