As the air pollution continued to worsen in New Delhi and the surrounding national capital region (NCR), local authorities have stepped up measures to mitigate the crisis. Gurugram Deputy Commissioner on December 21, announced new directives including work from home push and changes in the office timings in the city.
The Gurugram DC said that the decision was taken after the implementation of GRAP Stage-IV measures in Delhi NCR by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
"All private institutions and corporate offices of district Gurugram are advised to guide their employees to work from home w.e.f. 22-12-2025 till further order," the order shared by the DC office on X (formerly Twitter) read.
The order follows the GRAP-IV recommendations, which is already under implementation in the national capital.
In another order, the Gurugram DC office said that the timings of the government offices in the Gurugram district were changed, a move aimed at mitigating the air quality concerns in the region.
According to the order, staggered office timings for public offices under the Haryana state government and municipal corporations/ councils/ committees have been implemented.
Now, the offices under the state government will remain open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The offices under municipal corporation of Gurugram and Manesar will remain open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Accordingly, the office under the municipal councils of Sohna and Pataudi Mandi, along with municipal committee of Farukhnagar will have working hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
