Two remarks on the US-India relations from new US Ambassador to the country Sergio Gor sparked a big short-covering move on Monday, with the Nifty recovering over 300 points from the lows of the day to end a five-day losing streak. Multiple factors will put that recovery to test today. First, sources told CNBC-TV18 that no such talks are scheduled for today.
Two, today is the Nifty weekly expiry, and three, markets will react to results from TCS and HCLTech that were reported after market hours on Monday. For the Nifty, sustaining above 25,800 is the key, even 25,500 now becomes a bigger support. For the Nifty Bank, the 59,500 mark on the upside, and 59,000 on the downside is the key range.
Among stocks reporting results today include Bank of Maharashtra, ICICI Lombard, ICICI Prudential, Tata Elxsi, and Just Dial. Keep an eye on Meesho for its new foray as well.
