What is the story about?
Eight new stocks, Adani Power, Cochin Shipyard, Force Motors, Godfrey Phillips India, Hyundai Motor India, Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Nippon Life India AMC, and Vishal Mega Mart, will begin trading in the futures and options (F&O) space starting today, April 1.
While no stocks are out of the F&O space from this series, HUDCO, Piramal Pharma, Tata Technologies and Torrent Power will be out of the segment at the end of this series.
Here's a look at the new F&O entrants:
One lot of Adani Power's futures will comprise of 3,550 shares. The stock is currently down by 18% from its 52-week high level of ₹182.
400 shares of Cochin Shipyard will form one lot of its futures. The stock has more than halved from its 52-week high of ₹2,545, having declined 53% from those levels.
The commercial vehicle manufacturer will also be entering the F&O segment from today, and will include of a lot size of 25 shares. The stock is down 27% from its 52-week high
The cigarette manufacturer will also be in the F&O space starting today and will comprise of a lot size of 275 shares. The stock is down 52% from its 52-week high level of ₹3,947.
India's largest IPO will also be making an entry into the F&O space, nearly 18 months after having gone public in 2024. The stock will also have a lot size of 275 shares.
The stock has corrected significantly from its 52-week high level and has also slipped below its issue price of ₹1,960.
One of the two capital market names that will be part of the F&O space from today, is Motilal Oswal Financial Services, which will have a lot size of 775 shares.
The stock is down 42% from its 52-week high of ₹1,097.
The second of the two capital market names that will be part of the F&O space from today is this asset management firm. Nippon Life India AMC's futures will have a lot size of 625 shares.
The stock is down 21% from its 52-week high of ₹1,009.
The last one in the list is another new listing, Vishal Mega Mart, which will comprise of a lot size of 4,850 shares.
From a post-listing high of 157, the stock has cooled 33% from those levels.
