Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates:
Having declined for all four trading sessions of the week so far, the Nifty 50 index enters Friday's trade at the lower end of the range it has been stuck in for the last two months. The 25,800 mark becomes crucial for the index, as it has not closed below that level since December 10.
The lowest close it has had during this period is 25,815, on December 18. The index continues to be dragged by its heavyweights, RIL and HDFC Bank.
Geopolitical risks continue to dominate. Markets will also be watching out for the US Supreme Court verdict on Trump tariffs later this evening, along with the December jobs report. Earnings season back home is set to begin in full force from Monday, but stocks like IREDA and Tejas Networks report their Q3 results today.
Also watch for IEX ahead of the APTEL hearing on the market coupling case. Exporters and Metals which sold off sharply on Thursday will also be in focus, as will Bharat Coking Coal's IPO.
