Nifty IT Surges Amidst Stock Market Gains

The Indian markets appear to be en route to recovery, as the Nifty index has surged over 100 points; the index is now closer to the 25,800 mark. The Sensex index is also on the rise, rising over 400 points, jumping to 83,800.

The Nifty Bank index has also surged, jumping over 400 points, inching closer to setting a new record high mark.

Banks will be a sector to watch as index heavyweights ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank report results on Saturday. That may invite some caution. Reliance Industries, the Nifty 50 heavyweight, also reports after market hours on Friday. The stock is down nearly 10% from the record high levels it hit on January 5.
