A dramatic protest from Pune district has taken the internet by storm after a Junnar resident used two donkeys to pull his Mahindra Thar to a dealership in Wakad. The unusual demonstration, captured by bystanders
and widely shared online, has sparked intense discussion over vehicle quality and customer service. The protester, Ganesh Sangade, says he has been struggling with persistent mechanical issues ever since he bought the SUV just a few months ago. Despite making repeated trips to Mahindra Sahyadri Motors near the Hinjawadi Flyover, he claims the problems remained unresolved — prompting him to stage the eye-catching stunt as a last resort. To make sure his message couldn't be ignored, Sangade even organised a short procession with dhol-tasha performers, drawing large crowds and amplifying the spectacle.
Sharing his frustration, he said, “I purchased the Thar believing it’s a tough, dependable vehicle, but it has only given me trouble. Even after multiple services as recommended by the company, nothing has improved,'' as quoted by Punekar News. Sangade alleges the SUV suffers from water leakage, extremely poor mileage that forces daily refueling, rust spots on the body, and loud engine noise that affects driving comfort. His protest has ignited a wider conversation online about the state of after-sales service in the automobile sector. While some social media users found humor in the donkey-led demonstration, many voiced support for Sangade, calling it a reflection of how helpless customers often feel when companies fail to address their concerns.
