A video has sparked widespread outrage online after a woman requested two people to not throw a coconut or perform a “visarjan” in the Yamuna River, but they went ahead and did so anyway, by moving to another ghat. The clip has triggered massive reactions, garnering over 43 million views on Instagram.The video was shared by a user identified as Sonali Singh. In the clip, Sonali can be seen urging a man and a woman not to immerse the coconut in the river. She requests them, saying, ''Visarjan ke liye aaye ho, kaise batao aunty nariyal isme doob jayega, yeh kaisi aastha hai bhai. Phod kar kissi janwar ko khila do. Chidiya ko dedo, ab dusre ghat mat dhoondiyega.'' (“You’ve come here for immersion, but how do I explain, this coconut will just sink

in the river. What kind of faith is this? Break it and feed it to an animal, or give it to birds. Please don’t go looking for another ghat.”)However, despite her repeated requests, the duo left the spot, went to another ghat, purchased a boat ride, and moved to the middle of the river, where they carried out the ritual.
