For a city that heavily depends on its metro system for daily, safe and affordable commute- May 22 surely ended up turning into one of the most unforgettable days. From the metro passengers itself to the internet, everyone was left shocked after a video showed Gurugram Rapid Metro passengers walking alongside the tracks on Friday evening. Reportedly, the metro services were abruptly halted after a blast erupted in the transformer in Gurugram's Sector 72, as per The Times of India. The explosion was quick to trigger a grid collapse, leading to a power outage.Gurugram’s Rapid Metro was one of the affected services, as the metro was stopped for nearly 45 minutes. Reportedly, an oil leak in the 220 KVA current transformer had caused the blast, leading to a fire.
Seven power substations were affected, as per reports. Coming back to the clip, it soon went viral, as it started gaining multiple reactions. The video showed the halted metro standing mid-bridge, while passengers were seen walking back to the platform.
