‘Can You Cook For 30 People?’ Woman, A Future Surgeon, Faces ‘Toxic Expectations’ During Arranged Match-Making

Gone are the days when arranged marriage set-ups or match-making used to be valued. In the last few years, the concept of arranged set-up has only faced criticism, as women are becoming more vocal about the ‘illogical and impractical’ conditions and expectations that often come alongside such arranged proposals. Taking to social media, a woman highlighted the same. In the video, the woman shared three “toxic” instances that one of her friends faced while searching for a groom through an arranged set-up. The instances were basically about the demands that families of men searching for brides– were keeping forward. As per the woman, her friend will soon be a “Cardiac Surgeon”. was the one who allegedly asked her if she would be able to cook food for 30 people in the future; as their son doesn't know anything about cooking or other household chores.In another incident, a man refused to take the match forward as the woman, in the future, also wanted to take care of her parents. It was further clarified that the woman in question was a single child.In the next incident, a man allegedly asked the woman to remove her tattoo– if she wanted to take the match forward.For obvious reasons, the woman refused all the proposals. The video, on the other hand, was quick to go viral, leaving netizens shocked and fuming.Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.
