A visit to one of India's most iconic tourist destinations took a distressing turn for a South Korean traveller after she was allegedly attacked by a monkey near the Taj Mahal, with videos of the aftermath now circulating widely on social media.The incident reportedly took place outside the Eastern Gate of the Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. According to videos shared online, the woman suffered a deep bite injury to her hand, which left her bleeding heavily. The footage shows her visibly in pain, clutching her injured hand as locals escort her towards a nearby medical facility for treatment.The videos have triggered fresh discussions about the growing monkey menace around the UNESCO World Heritage Site, with many users questioning whether

enough is being done to ensure the safety of visitors.According to online reports, the situation was further compounded by an alleged delay in emergency medical assistance. Despite the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) reportedly informing the health department about the incident, an ambulance is said to have reached the spot only after nearly an hour, leaving the injured tourist waiting for treatment.The woman was initially given first aid at the primary health centre inside the Taj Mahal complex. As the ambulance allegedly failed to arrive in time, she was later transported to a private hospital in a battery-operated vehicle for further medical care.An X user who shared the viral video described the sequence of events in the caption, writing, "A monkey attacked a South Korean woman tourist at the Taj Mahal in Agra, biting her on the hand and causing bleeding. The injured tourist reportedly had to wait for nearly an hour for an ambulance while she remained in severe pain. Her companion asked people, 'Where do we go?' She was then taken to the primary health centre inside the Taj Mahal, where she received first aid. As the ambulance failed to arrive, a battery-operated cart was arranged to transport her to Shanti Mangalik Hospital for further treatment. ASI has sent a report to the CMO against the ambulance driver for alleged negligence."
