The rest of India might not remember the chaos that erupted in February 2025 anymore, but for stand-up comedian Samay Raina, the year and that month turned into one of his worst nightmares that will always be hard to forget! The ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy was one of the biggest, which was triggered over a derogatory question on parents. India’s Got Latent was a comedy show that Samay used to host, which had millions of fans. The show was all about light-hearted comedy and about becoming a much-needed platform for anyone who had talent to display. However, it went down really fast after Ranveer Allahbadia, one of the show's guests, ended up asking a problematic question from a contestant. What followed was a stretch-out crack down on the show and all of its
guests, multiple FIRs and a nationwide debate on how "necessary or unnecessary" the internet’s reaction was. Moreover, the show was eventually cancelled, while Raina was left with no other option but to delete the episodes from his YouTube channel.Cut to April 2026, Raina finally made a powerful comeback with his ‘Samay Raina Still Alive’ video, where he addressed everything. The video turned into a mega hit. Soon after the same, he appeared in an interview with Chalchitra Talks, where the comedian revealed his “unseen apology videos”, that he had made during the controversy, but never shared. He seemingly had taken “7 takes” to finally make a rather decent apology, which he anyways still never shared. As soon as the unseen clips hit the internet’s “daylight”, they immediately turned into a hit. Most netizens found them hilarious, while some cracked jokes on the same.Check out the viral post:“@maisamayhoon showed us his failed attempts at recording an apology video after the Latent controversy,” the post read. The post was shared on Instagram by the handle ‘chalchitratalks’. It was shared a few days ago and pulled more than 3M views from people.
