Did Pakistan file a ‘defamation case’ against Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar? Well, no, nothing as such has happened yet– however, it seems like the Indian side of the internet hardly cares about the ‘authenticity’ of the satirical video, which is going viral, claiming the above-mentioned incident to be true! Wait wait? Sounds confusing? Well, let’s start from the beginning.Dhurandhar and its connection with Pakistan:Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar is the latest Bollywood hit that is booming in the Box Office. The film is about an Indian spy who infiltrated the Pakistani mafia and politics. The goal was to eventually get a grip on Karachi. The character of the spy was played by Ranveer Singh, while the Pakistani gang leader he first befriended– only to later
betray– was Rehman Dakait, who was played by Akshaye Khanna. All in all, Pakistan had a lot to do with the movie and its plot, especially considering that most characters were inspired by real people and incidents by real events. With that being clear, it’s understandable that Pakistan had its fair share of take on the film. However, amid all the drama, did Pakistan really sue the film’s team?Well, as cleared above, nothing such has happened yet. However, a rather hilarious satirical video was shared online, as per which, Pakistan filed a ‘defamation case’ against Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. As per the video, Pakistan claimed that the movie portrayed the nation as ‘rich’, simply to mislead the UN into thinking that Pakistan was a ‘wealthy’ nation, ultimately leading to the UN not passing its loan! The video was shared by a satirical channel, The Fauxy, which shared that Pakistan also stated how India featured ‘cruiser-style bikes’ being used in Pakistan, despite the country only having bikes like the ‘Honda CD 70’. Although the video was purely for entertainment purposes, netizens still took it as ‘news’, resulting in some of the most brutal comments, roasting Pakistan.
