Do you remember the newly inaugurated Gomti Nagar Railway Station in Lucknow, which the internet once compared to “looking like an airport”? Yes, that very same railway station is now reportedly covered
in gutkha stains. A video showing the stained premises has gone viral on social media and is drawing heavy criticism. The video was shared on X by an account identified as @FabulasGuy. It shows ''gutkha'' and ''paan'' stains splashed across corners of the railway station. The clip was captioned: “I shared a reel of the newly built modern Gomti Nagar railway station. Most of the comments predicted that people would soon deface it by spitting. Unfortunately, they were right.”
Earlier, an Instagram account identified as @evolvewith_aalimahaa had posted a video showing her entering the Gomti Nagar Railway Station, which many said looked more like an airport. The video went massively viral, with users praising the station’s modern design, attractive infrastructure, and cleanliness. At the same time, several users had warned that the station would soon be ruined due to ''lack of civic sense.'' Now, a new video showing gutkha stains across the station has resurfaced online, sparking widespread outrage. Reacting to the visuals, one user wrote, “In India, a degree in civic sense should be made compulsory by the government.” Another commented, “These gutkha eaters should be banned from public spaces and kept under camera surveillance with hefty fines. Make them pay for destroying public property.”A third user remarked, “That’s disappointing to hear. Let’s hope people start respecting public spaces.”One more added, “I’m pretty sure there are CCTV cameras in and around the area. Identify such people and fine them heavily. Civic sense needs to be instilled, no matter how rich or poor they are.”/images/ppid_a911dc6a-image-176822284178118976.webp)
