‘Zero Civic Sense’ vs simply ‘making the best of the given’- was the debate that followed the virality of this video on social media. The clip-in-question was of two young kids, who were seen ‘swinging’ on ‘dustbins’! The duo seemingly turned the bins into their make-shift swings, as the bins were attaching to taller poles on either side, allowing the container to swing back and forth. Using the opportunity to have some fun, the kids were seen smiling and enjoying their DIY swings– only– it hardly sat well with many. Some called the incident an example of the ‘lack of civic sense’ among Indians, while others sympathised with the children. Many netizens also found it amusing, as they lauded the duo’s ‘creativity’, while others expressed concern
for their safety, pointing out how the dustbins did not look strong enough to endure such weight. Allegedly, the video was recorded by a passerby, who spotted the unusual ‘play time’ during their morning walk. Times Now could not confirm the details of the post. Check out the viral post:“A passerby was left stunned after spotting two children swinging inside a large dustbin during his morning walk. The unusual sight prompted him to stop and record the moment, showing the kids treating the bin like a makeshift ride. The video has since gone viral, drawing mixed reactions online, ranging from amusement to concern over child safety and supervision,” the post read.
