A Noida mother has sparked an emotional conversation online after revealing that the worsening air quality in Delhi-NCR led to her young son undergoing surgery. She shared a video on Instagram, offering
a glimpse into the difficult moments her family faced inside the hospital. The video was posted by Sakshi Pahwa, who captured scenes of her son lying in a hospital bed.In a heartfelt caption, she wrote, “Delhi NCR pollution didn’t just affect the air we breathe it pushed my little one into surgery. Two years ago we shifted here, and from that day chronic cold–cough, nonstop allergies and breathing issues began. No medicine worked, only pollution kept getting worse. As parents, watching him cry in the hospital broke us in ways words can’t explain. We pay taxes and this is what our kids get in return. It’s time to speak up.”
Her post struck a chord with Instagram users, prompting a wave of reactions and advice. One commenter urged, “Please change your location. Instead of spending on medicine and watching your child suffer, every penny you use to move out of Delhi to anywhere else will be worth it.”Another expressed anger, writing, “Very scary. People’s lives are at risk, and the government is busy hiding the truth.”A third user added, “May God bless him with good health. And for those saying it’s not because of pollution, please visit hospitals. Most kids and elderly people are getting sick because of this toxic air.”Meanwhile, Delhi continued to battle hazardous pollution levels. On Wednesday, the city’s AQI stood at 337—firmly in the “very poor” category. Of the 39 monitoring stations across the capital, 34 recorded very poor air and the remaining five were in the “poor” range.
