Amid protests against the ‘contaminated water tragedy’ that reportedly resulted in multiple casualties in Madhya Pradesh, a rather “embarrassing” incident surfaced on social media, which immediately went viral and left netizens with raised eyebrows. The clip showed a cop running away with a protester’s bell, in the middle of a protest that was not only against the tragedy but also seemingly against a rather questionable remark made by Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya. For context, Vijayvargiya, during an interaction with a journalist, had used a derogatory remark involving a ‘bell’, which soon turned into a full-blown out criticism against the minister’s behaviour, along with the issue of contaminated water. The
Congress party reportedly began to hold multiple protests over the issue, along with also taking a jibe at Vijayvargiya’s remark by carrying a bell around during the protests. Amid the same drama, the above-mentioned clip surfaced online, where the cop was seen taking away the bell from the protester, while the protester was heard shouting back, asking the cop to instead “snatch the bell from the person who made the remark (the bell remark).” However, it’s important to note that Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the incident. For those not aware, Vijayvargiya is currently facing major heat over the deaths of several innocent people due to allegedly ‘Bhagirathpura’s contaminated water’, where his ‘bell’ remark only further fuelled the fire. However, Vijayvargiya has already issued an apology over the remark. As soon as the video went viral, netizens began to react. Most found the cop’s behaviour uncalled for, while some commented on the minister's questionable remark.Check out the viral post: The post was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘Benarasiyaa’.
