It’s quite understandable for companies and hiring managers to want the best when it comes to recruiting. With that said, getting tasks and assignments as part of a hiring process during the interview round is quite a common practice. However, when this man got assigned with a test by a company that he was applying for– he was left feeling confused and “exploited” instead. Taking to social media, the man shared about the incident on Reddit. As per the post, the man was conversing with the HR on WhatsApp, instead of email, during the entire hiring process.Sharing the screenshots of the same texts, the man pointed out that the task that he received looked a bit too elaborate, to the level that it left him questioning if such an assignment was “normal
or exploitation”.As per the post, the man is a ‘developer’ with an experience of ‘2 to 3 years’, where it was the organisation that had approached the man. The company was allegedly asking him to “literally make a professional-level custom plugin”.As soon as the post went viral, netizens began to react. Most called it “fishy”, while others confirmed his suspicion of being “exploited”.Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.Check out the viral post:“Is this actually normal in an interview for a developer with 2-3 years of experience or is it exploitation?” the post read. “I was approached by this company for an interview. I gave them my details that they had asked. I gave the first round of the virtual interview for an on-site job, but then in the technical task, they are asking me to literally make them a professional level custom plugin. The job I am currently working at doesn't do interviews like this. Is this normal or is it exploitation?” the post further read. The post was shared on Reddit by the handle ‘Desperate_Pickle1321’.
