An employee, who allegedly dedicated years of loyalty with hardly any leaves, was left speechless over his manager’s insensitive handling of his ‘15-day approved leave’-- that he allegedly took for a major surgery! Taking to social media, the man shared the entire incident on Reddit. As per the post, the man was in “significant pain for 3 to 4 months prior to the surgery”, and only opted for it when the pain turned insufferable. The leave got approved, yet the manager allegedly started contacting the recovering employee the very next day. Allegedly, the boss began to ask the employee to work from home, stating how working from “laptop from home/bed is different than going to work outside.”The employer then asked if WFH would be a possibility,
based on the doctor's prescription; however, the employee refused. The manager then began to ask the employee to come back “full time” after the 7th day itself, stating that it was a "crucial time of the year”.The post soon went viral, leaving netizens triggered. Most suggested the man leave such a company, while the rest recalled their own similar incidents. Many also blamed the employee for answering the manager’s calls and messages.Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.

“Sharing my experience of my medical leave due to a surgery,” the post read. “I had already taken approval for a 15 day leave due to my surgery, since the recovery was extremely time sensitive and painful. This was the first time in several years of working here that I requested such a long leave. Most of my previous leaves were a maximum of 3 days at a stretch. I had been in significant pain for 3 to 4 months prior to the surgery, and when all medications failed, the doctor advised that surgery was the only option. I planned my dates carefully so the peak season would not be affected. I got approval for the leave. Worked late nights and weekends to complete all tasks that depended on me, and handed over the remaining work to my colleagues so things would run smoothly in my absence,” the post read. “But guess what, I received a call from my manager on the day of the surgery itself. My phone was not with me and I was under anaesthesia, so I replied the next day. From the third day of my leave, he started asking me to work from bed, and by the seventh day, he asked when I could return to full time work. I even sent him my discharge papers, doctor’s prescription, and recovery instructions. Yet he still had the audacity to ask me to work from bed,” the post concluded. You've got your leave approved, pretend you're fully recovering and actually recover instead of taking additional stress. Please don't show this much loyalty, they clearly don't give a damn about you. Get well soon!” added another.ALSO READ:
