For a country that often glorifies working for longer hours and even occasionally on weekends– it’s quite refreshing to hear about a manager who is more than willing to offer “extra leaves” for periods to women employees. Taking to social media, a woman shared a screenshot of a text conversation between a manager and a female employee. As per the text, the employee had requested for some flexibility, citing that she was not well. The manager not only approved it, but further asked if it was related to "period pain”, to which the woman said “yes”. What the boss responded in return was something that left everyone shocked: “Take extra leave”.“Okay, take care. Since you're new, you probably don't know yet. We give girls 2-3 days leave during their
periods if they're not feeling well. You take proper rest for 2 days,” the manager's text read. The manager then asked the employee to take rest, stating that these leaves won’t result in a “salary cut”.Despite the offer being “supportive”, it left many with a bad taste, as some called it “unprofessional”. Netizens also commented that not every female employee is comfortable sharing such private information.Times Now could not confirm the details or the authenticity of the post.Check out the viral post: “Real men make women feel comfortable, not guilty,” the post read.
