The lack of ‘civic sense’ and ‘public responsibility and behaviour’ among Indians was yet again on the dock, after a video from Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, began to circulate on social media. The clip showed a man- Anoop Nautiyal, also founder of a foundation- calling out and correcting a tourist who was allegedly spotted littering the street while commuting on the busy road. The clip initially showed Nautiyal with a used plastic cup and spoon in hand, which he then clarified was thrown out of the car window by the tourist driving in front of him.The video then showed the man getting out of his car and confronting the tourist who had thrashed the street. Allegedly, not only did the tourist take the litter back but also “looked apologetic” over the action.
As per Nautiyal, it was a “middle-aged woman” who was responsible for displaying such behaviour. Along with recalling his conversation with the tourist, the man also highlighted the importance of keeping not just a single state but the entire country clean. The video went viral in an instant, gaining many reactions. Times Now could not confirm the details of the post.Check out the viral post: “Today, while traveling to Mussoorie, I couldn't simply stand by when tourists in the taxi ahead threw their trash out of the window. I calmly approached them and handed their plastic waste back to them. Additionally, I requested the female tourist not to do such things in the future. Let us keep Uttarakhand clean, keep the country clean, and refrain from littering in public places,” the post read. The post was shared on Instagram by the handle ‘Anoop Nautiyal’. It was shared 2 days ago and pulled over 262K views from people.
