There has long been a debate on social media about how tourists’ “lack of civic sense” has led to problems in various Indian states. But what happens when locals start behaving the same way? In a video that is going viral, a man was seen schooling a driver for driving in the wrong lane and blocking oncoming traffic. The video was shared on Instagram by a user identified as @theangryindian.i. In the clip, a car can be seen on the wrong side of the road, blocking vehicles coming from the correct lane. A man is then seen reprimanding the driver, asking him to move to the correct side so that other vehicles are not obstructed. The incident is reportedly from Uttarakhand, and the car’s number plate shows “UK.” The man can be heard saying, “Peeche
lo yaar gaadi?”A text overlay on the video reads, “The kind of moral policing I support. Not always DL, HR, UP cars, locals are no different.” The video was captioned, “Delhi Dehradun Expressway ke baad ab har weekend yahi dikhega.”
As the video went viral, it sparked a debate online. Several users pointed out that earlier viral clips often blamed vehicles from states like Haryana or Delhi for causing chaos in hill stations. However, this video has now shifted the narrative. One user wrote, “So where are those people who blame UP/DL vehicles? Here, it’s a UK car standing in the wrong lane.” Another commented, “They only target vehicles from outside states… but everyone behaves the same way, which is wrong. If people stick to their own lanes, there wouldn’t be traffic at all.”Another user added, “At least people should have enough understanding and patience to realise that vehicles are coming from the other lane as well.” One more remarked, “Good job, brother… but this car isn’t from Haryana. Yet, people want to defame those from Haryana.” The video continues to receive mixed reactions online.
