Working remotely for a company based outside India is often a ‘dream opportunity’ for many. After all, why would one not want to work from the comforts of their home, while earning in a more valued currency? However, for this Navi Mumbai techie, the take is a bit different. “Remote work is the biggest scam sold to Indian developers,” the woman stated in a social media post going viral. The woman claimed that US companies often pay “3 to 4 times more” to local workers than the “Rs 25 to 40 LPA” packages that they offer to Indians working from home.“You're just cheap labour for US companies,” the woman further stated, along with equating “No office” to “No visibility. No politics. No real promotions. No real equity.” “Your onsite batchmate is already
making more than you,” she further added. The post immediately went viral, but failed to sit well with many. Most disagreed with the woman’s take and commented how an employee working on-site is bound to have more pay, citing that their expenses are also more than those of employees working from home. Many also call it a standard practice that is followed not just in the US but in other countries as well.Times Now could not confirm the details of the post.Check out the viral post: “Remote work is the biggest scam sold to Indian developers.
