Caught On Cam! Zomato Delivery Agent’s ‘New Scam’ Leaves Internet Buzzing

Imagine ordering food online, waiting for it for a long time– only to find the order status changed to “delivered”, without even it being received! Sounds frustrating, correct? Well, the same frustration and understandable anger is what took over a Kolkata man after something similar happened with him. Taking to social media, the Zomato customer exposed a delivery guy, as he shared a CCTV footage of the incident that unfolded right outside his door. The footage showed the delivery guy keeping the order in front of the door, clicking a picture to show the order as “delivered”-- only to then leave the area with the customer’s food in hand!As per the CCTV data, the incident unfolded on Sunday, June 20, at around 10: 30 PM. Reportedly, the scammed

customer was identified as Sumit Chakraborty, who later complained about the same to the food delivery app as well. Along with the video evidence, Chakraborty also reportedly demanded an investigation and strict action against the delivery agent.The footage, on the other hand, began to circulate online, leaving the internet with a “new fear unlocked”. Internet’s reaction: “#Zomato #BlinkIt are tech based chor. Recently, I got injured becoz of their negligence. When complaining, they drag me around. I was fine if they compensated me with the broken item... No... Even my evidence that I shared with them via their app is deleted,” a user said. “First he delivered: did his job. Then stole : which is theft So this is theft, submit this to the police,” added another person. “That’s why businesses are leaning toward robotics and automation, people just can’t always be relied upon to get the job done. What an age we live in lol,” wrote the next.
