Between choosing to correct someone displaying extremely poor public behaviour and one’s own safety– Indians are now choosing to prioritise their well-being. In yet another incident where a person refused to correct a fellow Indian’s problematic behaviour, a video was shared online, which showed a woman casually littering the train’s floor during a train journey. The passenger was even seen washing her hands on the floor near her seat. The video was being recorded by another passenger sitting opposite her; however, prioritising their own safety, the cameraperson chose not to correct the woman’s actions. The littering allegedly went on for “5 hours”, even though a dustbin was allegedly kept not far from her. “The passenger next to my seat spent
the whole 5-hour train journey eating and throwing all the leftovers under the seat. The dustbin was right outside,” the post read. For those confused, more and more Indians are choosing not to correct others publicly, mainly after the ‘Mayank Lohar case’. The 22-year-old was travelling in the Mumbai Local Train, which is when he was stabbed to death by a fellow passenger, over a petty argument. Lohar reportedly had suggested closing the train’s door to keep rainwater from coming inside the coach during rain.Coming back to the woman’s video, it immediately went viral and left netizens reacting. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.Check out the viral post:The post was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘CountryGulshan’.
