Ex-IAS Officer Slams Delhi's 'Toxic Air,' Shares Stunning Photo From US: 'Note The Stark Contrast'
Times Now
A former IAS officer has stirred debate on social media after sharing a post contrasting Delhi’s pollution-choked skyline with the clean, scenic outdoors of his life abroad. Now settled overseas, LV Nilesh
— founder of the tech platform CloudGenius.app — took to X to criticise the capital’s deteriorating air quality, saying that if he hadn’t moved out of India, he would have had to “live and breathe in this mess otherwise known as the North Block Secretariat.”In his post, Nilesh shared two images side by side — one showing Delhi blanketed in smog, and another of himself standing before the serene Mount Rainier National Park in the US. “Note the stark contrast,” he wrote, emphasising the difference between India’s polluted air and the pristine environment abroad.
His comments come amid Delhi’s rapidly worsening Air Quality Index (AQI). The post triggered a wave of reactions online. Many users voiced frustration over Delhi’s air crisis, with one remarking, “This is becoming shame of India and health emergency for Delhites.” Another commented, “Probably only country in the world where cities have degraded massively even though other developmental parameters have remained stable or gotten better.”However, others accused the former officer of turning his back on the system he once served. “You were supposed to be part of the solution,” one user wrote. Another added, “Sir. Thought u did IAS to protect and serve country.”A third user criticised his post, saying, “Kya faida, showing the same country in a bad light which made you capable and gave you responsibility to serve the country. Still trying to justify your decision and get certificate from social media about what a remarkable decision you made.”
