It’s quite easy to figure out a country’s ‘respect’ for itself if one of its most tourist-dense places looks more like a ‘dump yard’ and less like a well-maintained tourist attraction. A video was recently
shared on social media, which surely left many fuming but hardly surprised anyone. The clip was of Delhi’s Chandni Chowk– one of the most visited areas by tourists and locals- looking more like a ‘dump yard’ due to heavy trashing and littering. The video was recorded by some cyclists, who were cycling in the area– only to stumble upon a blatant example of ‘lost civic sense’ among Indians. The cyclist was quick to point out that the area did have multiple dustbins, yet the trashing was everywhere but inside the bins. Questioning India’s civic sense, the man further blamed problematic habits behind such questionable behaviour. The video went viral in an instant, leaving netizens reacting in multiple ways. Most demanded stricter actions against littering, while some even called the nation a ‘doomed country’. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.
