Horrified and shocked, the crowd was quick to disperse, leaving the floor right below the leak empty. As per most internet reactions, the leak was caused amid heavy rainfall in the city, resulting in many connecting it with rainfall water leak. Videos of the same soon began to circulate online and on media outlets. to an official statement issued by Senior Public Relations Officer for Pune Metro, Chandrashekhar Tambwekar, the incident was caused due to a technical issue with the AC. The incident happened on Thursday, May 21, at around 6:40 PM, on the Train Set-5 while it was at the Ramwadi Metro Station, as per Republic World. The India Meteorological Department (IMD), on the other hand, reported a mostly clear sky that “became partly cloudy in the afternoon” on May 21 in Pune.
